Hi and welcome to FreedomDanz, a site dedicated to providing affordable dancewear for all ages. I’m Shari and I have been a professional dancer and dance teacher for over 22 years, I live a quieter life these days writing magazine articles on various dance subjects and occasionally judging dance competitions.
It’s my belief that dance should be for everyone and not for those few that can afford top end classes and kit from fancy dance stores. This site offers advice on dancewear and dance accessories that are available at everyday prices so we can all be budding stars regardless of our budgets!

Dancewear shopping online has become a lot easier in the last few years with some excellent sites leaping through; here we look at various items of dancewear and advice on the best around at the best prices.
Dancewear today comes in a huge range of styles with new designs appearing almost constantly so where do you start? Depending on your dance style, whether it’s jazz, ballet or street, choose comfortable dance clothing based on the basics, low rise fleece sweats and a body tank or leotard make a good start for most areas with stirrup tights for ballet and some jazz. Keep to known manufacturers such as Capezio, Bloch, Tia’s dancewear and Body wrappers to name a few, these bigger dancewear companies usually have sale items and basics available on sites like Amazon and it’s possible to save big bucks!

Dance shoes are also discounted on sites like this with big savings on clearance models; don’t be fooled into buying this season models when dance shoe basics haven’t changed that much in the last 10 years! Sure the colors change, and the wording on the box gets more technical but the shoes? They need to be strong, flexible, supporting and comfortable – these rules haven’t changed since I was a teen!
Dance accessories are an area that really HAS changed with almost any item you can dream of being available with dance inspired logos or images on! Buying a gift for a young dancer has never been so spoilt for choice with bags, tees, cups, pins hair scrunchies, DVDs, even your own design rhinestone logos.
All major electronic games consoles have dance versions with the ones for Wii being a huge success amongst all age ranges of dancers- try it yourself!
